Apple followed a script that's been playing out across the tech space: our devices and chips are vulnerable, too.

"These issues apply to all modern processors and affect nearly all computing devices and operating systems. All Mac systems and iOS devices are affected, but there are no known exploits impacting customers at this time."

Apple says it has already released some mitigation updates for certain versions of OS with more to come.

"Apple will release an update for Safari on macOS and iOS in the coming days to mitigate these exploit techniques."

The tech giant says its 'Meltdown' mitigation efforts show no measurable loss of performance, while the 'Spectre' fix is reported to have a peformance reduction of less than 2.5% using the JetStream benchmark.
