There will be hundreds of great quotes, surprising ideas, and nuggets of InfoSec wisdom shared on March 27-28 at SecureWorld Boston.

You'd expect that from New England's largest cybersecurity gathering, and we'll be reporting extensively on year 15.

However, we already know about a slew of fresh views you can expect, based on the agenda, including these seven surprising ideas:

  1. Bruce Schneier will be sharing on why we need to act now, with a different approach to security, or it may soon be possible to "Click Here to Kill Everybody."
  2. Steve Brown, Intel's former Futurist, will explain why your future team member will be Artificial Intelligence. AI will not just support what you do, but actually become a team member you collaborate with like those of the human variety.
  3. Mark Aiello, (ISC)2 Board Member, goes beyond the fact this is a tight job market in InfoSec. He has a surprisingly fresh look at maximizing your InfoSec earning potential by hitting on the right KPIs, accomplishments, and degrees or accreditations.
  4. Jordan Fischer, Managing Partner of XPAN Law Group, is talking about the recent surprises coming from state and federal lawmakers in her survey of key regulatory and legal changes underway in privacy and cybersecurity.
  5. Mark Stanford, Manager, Cloud Security at Cisco, will be talking about intriguing ways the birth of cryptocurrency has changed the threat landscape.
  6. Esmond Kane, Deputy CISO at Partners HealthCare, shares surprising results from his organization's multi-year "Lighthouse" program that empowers everyone in the organization to help with security. This includes physicians, residents, researchers, and staff. It can include the roles at your organization, as well.
  7. Daniel Smith, Head of Security on Radware's Emergency Response Team, will surprise you with his look at 52 different attack types and categories to be aware of and comprehend.

With nearly 50 sessions and at least half a dozen panel discussions, you can understand why so much learning and networking will be happening in Boston this week.
