Three men are in jail and police have their computers and devices, after they allegedly hacked social media and cloud storage accounts to steal and share nude photos and videos of women.

Possibly from thousands of women, according to a police spokesperson.

The culprits arrested were linked to a site called Anon-IB, which famously posted "Celebgate" nude photos such as those of Jennifer Lawrence and other stars. The site is also known as a place to post "revenge porn," the practice of getting back at an "ex" by sharing compromising images.

And according to BBC News, the site was extremely popular:

"Prior to being shut down, Anon-IB was one of the web's top 10,000 most popular sites.

Dutch police said the investigation that led to the site being closed began in March 2017. It started with a complaint by a Dutch woman who found that images from her cloud storage account had been stolen and shared online."

Police says the victims are believed to be from several countries around the world. The site is now shut down, and police have control of the servers.
