People will go crazy for anything involving their favorite movie. It could be a collector's item, a director's cut, a chance to meet one of the actors/ actresses in the movie—it doesn't matter.

I think we can all relate to this in one way or another. Your favorite movie might give you a sense of comfort or make you feel a certain way, which is why you like it so much. And why you want to incorporate it into your daily life.

But when it comes to cybersecurity, you might want to leave your favorite movie at the virtual door.

## **Top 20 movies found in breach password lists**

Specops recently released its list of the 20 most used movie titles as passwords. Here is how they developed the list:

"According to our new research, which analyzed more than 800 million breached passwords—a subset of Specops Breached Password Protection, which contains over 2 billion breached passwords—fan favorite 'Rocky' took the #1 spot, showing up on breached password lists nearly 96,000 times. Trailing close behind was 'Hook', which showed up in over 75,000 breached password lists and the 'Matrix' at more than 50,000."

And the moment you've all been waiting for, the list:

1. Rocky
2. Hook
3. Matrix
4. Batman
5. Psycho
6. Superman
7. Avatar
8. Mummy
9. Twilight
10. Star Wars
11. Spiderman
12. Frozen
13. X-Men
14. Ironman
15. Jaws
16. Shrek
17. Twister
18. Gladiator
19. Titanic
20. Terminator

While your employees might think it's fun to use their favorite movie as a password, it can actually be quite risky.

Have you ever liked a post on social media that involved your movie of choice?

Hackers can easily scroll through your social profile and activities to get a hint at what your password might be, and they can find a ton of personal information without too much digging.
