Connected cars, smartphones, IoT, digital health records; Welcome to the new connected reality. If it feels like every aspect of your life is now connected, it's because it probably is. In order to get ahead in today's world, we must be willing to adapt to new technologies. The problem is that each step towards total connectivity comes with consequences. If your data ends up in the hands of hackers, it could take a toll on not only your professional life, but your personal life as well. Ben Desjardins, Director of Security Solutions, Radware, believes that everyone should know the value of their data.
"We need to start to think about how our behaviors and activities online have ramifications on how we're looked at by the outside world, and think about what protections are in place to protect that data. What are the things that those organizations that we're working with online are doing to protect that data from falling into the wrong hands," Desjardins said.
On the business side of things, the stakes could arguably run even higher.
"As more and more enterprises become what I would call network dependent, they're doing more and more business online, there's a sensitivity around that data and around maintaining availability, that's increasingly critical to them," Desjardins stated.
At SecureWorld Boston on March 29, 2016, Ben Desjardins will deliver a keynote speech on the importance of keeping our connected lives, both personal and professional, safe and ways to accomplish this.
