Leveraging Software Defined Networking to Improve Security

Securing the perimeter used to be enough.

Now, Steven Shalita says it goes something like this: “With the influx of new types of communications and new devices, there is a significant increase in untrusted traffic on the network. The security team needs a way to control this traffic independently from the traditional network.”

Shalita will be talking about this problem and its solutions as a keynote speaker on “Leveraging SDN Technology to Improve Enterprise Security” at SecureWorld Atlanta, happening May 30-31.

“The maturity of SDN (software-defined networking) technology has enabled new ways to segment and control traffic across the network,” he says.

He will illustrate how simple it can be to implement traffic segmentation that establishes granular software-defined security, and to do so without having to disrupt operations.

Shalita is Vice President at Pluribus Networks, and has more than 20 years of technology experience across the enterprise, cloud, and service provider tech segments. His expertise spans across cybersecurity, network security, forensics, SDN/NFV, and IT infrastructure. So expect this to be a relevant and well-researched session.
