The Register claims to have the inside scoop on price increases Cisco is putting into place to cover tariffs on Chinese-made tech. The increases are apparently up to 25%.

"On Monday, a well-placed source in the Cisco reseller channel told The Register: '2,500 part numbers went up by an average of 7.8 per cent,' adding that 'unlike past price adjustments, this one had no forewarning.'"

Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins recently lauded on CNBC the company's performance and its acquisition of DUO Security. But he also talked about the risk of the trade war that is underway.

"We have this incredibly strong global economy right now and I think the number one risk is that this thing escalates even beyond where it is today... we're going to have to deal with it with our pricing."

He says Cisco has been discussing the unintended consequences with the administration, especially when it comes to the potential to constrain research and development in the United States.
