You might as well call it "The State of the CISO," and if you attend the upcoming SecureWorld Boston, you can hear Dr. Larry Ponemon share it.

His presentation is based on what he learned during his institute's recent research on InfoSec leaders at 184 companies.

5 things about the 'Changing Role of the CISO' and InfoSec leaders

I spoke with Dr. Ponemon recently, and here are the things he's going to unpack in his Boston keynote:

1. The growing number of named CISOs

2. Ways CISO prominence within the organization continues to grow

3. Many CISOs are rising from unexpected backgrounds—which ones?

4. How CISOs are shifting into a coaching role

5. Where CISOs are feeling increased pressure

And while InfoSec leaders report feeling more pressure in some areas, there is some relief in other areas. "Lines of business are taking on more responsibility for the risk," Ponemon says.
