It was the last week of August when President Trump tweeted about a cybersecurity related story after a report he had seen on conservative news site The Daily Caller.
The publication said, "A Chinese-owned company penetrated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private server, according to sources briefed on the matter," without naming the sources or the Chinese company.
And these tweets followed:
The tweets really hit a nerve, and as of August 30th, nearly 60,000 people commented on Twitter about the President's two tweets—with hundreds of thousands of retweets and likes.
The story has now been covered by Fox News and CNN, and gee, their headlines sure look different on this story!
In both reports, however, the FBI pushed back, saying it has not seen any evidence that the Clinton servers in question were compromised.
If you have a few minutes, you might want to check out the Twitter conversation linked to these tweets. But almost none of them have anything to do with cybersecurity.
Instead, they focus on Clinton, Trump, politics, and what is fake news.
Or not fake news.
