Did your T-Mobile account information get hacked?

Maybe.

The company says it is notifying affected customers after an international hacking group of some sort hacked their way into the company's network. A snippet from the T-Mobile breach notification letter says this:

"On August 20, our cyber-security team discovered and shut down an unauthorized access to certain information, including yours, and we promptly reported it to authorities."

T-Mobile told [Motherboard](https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/a3qpk5/t-mobile-hack-data-breach-api-customer-data) that about 2.3 million customers had some information stolen.

Information that the T-Mobile hackers captured included the following:

- Name
- Billing ZIP code
- Phone number
- Email address
- Account number
- Account type (prepaid or postpaid)

The company says Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, and passwords were not taken.

The company says you should dial 611 on your T-Mobile wireless phone if you have questions about this latest breach.
