Hackers knocked the Weather Channel's live broadcast off air for about 90 minutes this week.

That's a serious business disruption and as we've heard at our cybersecurity conferences, IT and security teams were certainly facing immense pressure.

However, the twitterverse thought the breach was hilarious, which is a better reaction than Equifax received after its breach announcement.

The Weather Channel made a serious announcement on Twitter, which was followed by a flurry of weather related jokes about the hack.

And the thought in this last tweet certainly is not lost on broadcasters.

We're sure many of them are talking about their backups and contingencies. Backups really saved the day during the Weather Channel hack and limited the down time.

Finally, here's one last tweet, calling out the cybersecurity company that made headlines by helping the Democratic National Committee with its hack in 2016:

Maybe they're already there.
